FAQ

  • How do I know if therapy can help me?

We are firm believers that therapy helps all humans thrive. But there are also certain signs we frequently see that indicate that therapy may be especially helpful including:

    • Overwhelming emotion

    • Feelings of loss or sadness that interfere with your day to day life

    • Thoughts or feelings that you cannot control

    • High levels of stress that do not go away

    • Trouble sleeping and/or relaxing

    • Difficulty enjoying things in life that you once used to

  • What are the benefits of therapy?

We see therapy helping our clients to feel more at ease with themselves, the people around them, and the spaces they inhabit. This looks a little different for each person but often includes:

    • Better coping with stress

    • Greater ability to self-soothe and move through unpleasant emotions

    • Reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression

    • Healing of past trauma and PTSD related symptoms

    • Increased satisfaction in relationships

    • Stronger attachment with children

    • Increase in sense of self-confidence

  • How do I know if therapy is working?

Ultimately, we want to see you making progress toward your goals and reduce the symptoms you are experiencing. While each person’s symptoms and goals are a little bit different, the foundation of all of this is a positive, trusting working relationship. We will collaboratively set goals and and markers for meeting them and collaboratively revisit both.

  • Do you take insurance?

We do not take insurance but we do provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement.

  • Do you work with dads and partners?

Yes! Did you know that 1 in 10 men report feelings of depression after the birth of their child? It is common to need support during this time of transition and we are happy to work with family members in any capacity.

  • "I don't have kids" OR "My kids are grown". Can you still help me?

Absolutely! While we have advanced training in supporting women during childbearing years, we love working with people in various life stages. Wherever you are in your journey, we are happy to offer supportive guidance to help you get where you would like to go.
